Harvest mouse life span is 18 months
Captured on Nikon D7200 Sigma 105 macro harvest mouse a small rodent native to Europe, typically found in fields of cereal crops like wheat, oats, also found living in wetland reed beds, tall ground végétation and hedgerows
Harvest mice can live for up to 18 months but often it is no more than 6 months. Modern farming methods have not been good for the harvest mouse. Harvest Mice enjoy crawling into flowers to eat the pollen, have been known sometimes to fall asleep after a good pollen treat. Harvest mouse are not endangered :Least Concern (Population stable) The Harvest Mouse (Micromys minutus) is the smallest rodent in Britain common in parts of Wales and from Yorkshire southwards however, it is not found on high ground also found across Europe and Asia. Harvest Mice are easy to keep in a healthy condition and make interesting but not touchy-feely pets. They grow accustomed to having people present and active around them and behave as normally as their conditions allow. Naturally spend most of the colder winter months underground you may observe less activity during this time period. #wildlife #nature #animals #wildanimals @carbonblackandwhite #carbonblackandwhite #instagrammers #igers #instalove #instamood #instagood #followme #follow #comment #shoutout #iphoneography #androidography #filter #filters #hipster #contests #photo #instadaily #igaddict #TFLers #photooftheday #pics #insta #picoftheday #harvestmouseSigma 105 macro lens

Aperture amount of light, which provides either shallow or large DOF (depth of field)
Shutter Speed amount of time light enters the camera to either freeze or blur motion
ISO light sensitivity which affects detail and sharpness, increasing noise the higher the ISO the higher noise and grain within the picture.

A perfect exposure creates the perfect image is the balance of all three elements

Bread for duck

22/11/2019

Always have taken brown bread with me to the local pond with my grandchildren to feed the wetland birds
I still fond memories as a kid walking with a bag full of stale crust that had been saved up in the bread bin over the week by nan, the Sunday afternoon walk down to the local pond and feeding the ducks, swans, grease and moorhens . Now it’s my turn to save the bread for when my grandchildren visit and off we go to the river bag in hand full of brown bread it’s lovely to see their smiling faces and the friendly Mute Swan walks up to collect his helping from my granddaughter hand. I have been photographing this breeding pair for around 8 years now regularly Just like us, birds need a varied diet to stay healthy," I personally mix my bread with a special mix of food pellets. During 2018 social media campaigns to stop people feeding breads to ducks and swans was at it highest could this have been partly responsible for our population of some breeds of wetland birds underweight and "starving" due to lack of food in British ponds and lakes. Many people stopped feeding birds entirely during the winter of 2018 as a result of social media facts that were wrong, bread is not harmful, my advice only feed small amounts to the birds mixed with sweetcorn, porridge oats and defrosted frozen peas.

Worker Bee in close up

29/10/2019

Even an image full of colour makes an outstanding photograph
Even an image full of colour makes needs a little extra sometimes the photograph I shot this picture of a worker bee in colour Nikon D7200 Sigma 105 1to 1 macro lens converted in photo shop after all colour adjustments levels, contrast, curves and colour then transferring the image across to Carbon photo app using their preset setting to start with then fine turning to the effect that you see in this image adding a boarder for finishing touches.
The photograph was captured during a day bird photographing day at Rutland water nature reserve I just happened to be walking between hides when I spotted the bee working hard pollening flowers, the wonders of Mother Nature.

Facts
A worker bee is any female bee that lacks the full reproductive capacity of the colony's queen bee; under most circumstances, this is correlated to an increase in certain non-reproductive activities relative to a queen, as well.
They do all the work in the hive, and they control most of what goes on inside. Their jobs include housekeeping, feeding the queen, drones and larvae, collecting the pollen and nectar, and making the wax.
The majority of the bee hive's population consists of worker bees.
From the day they are born they slave away cleaning and guarding the hive, feeding the bee brood.
Honey bees are social creatures that enlist a caste system to accomplish the tasks that ensure the survival of the colony.

The mute swan is a species of swan and a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Eurasia, and the far north of Africa.
A very large white waterbird, with a long S-shaped neck and an orange bill, black base and a black knob. Noted for flying with its neck extended and slow wingbeats. With a population increased recently in the uk perhaps due to better protection of this species. Locations like Welney nature reserve has over 30000 wintering birds

Welney Wetland Centre the light dropping as dusk falls swans returning onto the reserve, from nearby field feeding throughout the day. A spectacular view of swans gliding overhead and descending towards the surface of the water
